BIO

Chant’s music has unique roots. Born in Germany into an Armenian family, Chant moved to Canada when he was 18. Chant’s instrumental preferences have been collected from his cultural history. His love for music began with a small Casio keyboard given to him by his father when he was four. By thirteen, Chant’s talent expanded to include instruments such as the bass guitar and drums. Chant is a self- taught musician.

Although his work always brings him back to the keyboards, Chant also uses DAW technology to develop the layers of sound used in the music he composes. He also actively produces music for other artists-a passion where his musical creativity and talent really shine through.

Chant has been inspired by the works of musicians such as film music composer John Williams, as well as musicians such as Yanni, Hans Zimmer, Brian Tyler and Klaus Badelt. His talents have been used towards the composition of cultural music, church productions and music for heavy metal rock bands. His musical tastes are not limited to a particular genre, however he is interested in the sounds of epic rock and symphonic metal.

Chant continues to collaborate with various artists to produce/arrange music of a variety of genres for them.  He regulary challenges himself by taking part in contests that push his boundaries in music arrangement.  His aspires to venture deeper into film scoring as well as expanding his in-home studio production for sound designing, mixing and mastering.

In his spare time, Chant is an avid record collector with hundreds of records of different artists ranging from John Williams to Nightwish.
